Organization

The Main Gallery contains personal photographs collected over the years as well as contributions from various sources.  The main gallery view presents a number of individual upper level galleries, each of which contains either photographs or a listing of one or more sub-galleries.  Each sub-gallery then reflects this same organizational process carried out to one or more deeper levels.  To enter the Main Gallery click here or click the Main Gallery option under the Gallery Menu on the left.

Viewing Photographs

There are several ways to navigate the galleries and several ways to view them.  Each gallery is initially presented as a series of links usually containing a thumbnail.  Clicking on a link or thumnail will take you either a lower level sub-gallery or to a detail screen for a particular photograph.  Each photo detail screen then allows you to view a popup of the photo by clicking on it, which then displays the full original photo if the original photo is indeed larger than the detail photo.  The detail screen also provides you with access to a slide show of all the other photos in the current gallery.  You can also move backwards and forwards through the current gallery using the navigiation buttons or the photo scroller.

Providing Comments or Voting

Registered user of the site who are logged in (see login/logoff under My Area on the left) are able to leave comments, cast their votes for favorite photos and send photo links to friends.

Referencing Photos on Our Site

HTML code is provided for each photo if you wish to provide a link to a picture on our site from a blog or another website.

Viewer Contributions

There are two ways you can contribute photos.  You can send in a collection of photographs for possible inclusion by mailing them to us on DVD.  Photos contributed in this manner will be selectively uploaded by us into an appropriate gallery usually as a stand alone sub-gallery.  You can also upload photos on a photo by photo basis using the Gallery's User Panel.  Photos uploaded in this manner will undergo an approval process before they are published to a suitable sub-gallery under the View Contributions Gallery, which initially includes Abqaiq, Dhahran, Ras Tanura, Boarding School, Travel, Friends and Family, Reunions and General Arabia.  To enter the Viewier Contributions Gallery click here or click the View Contributions button under the Gallery Menu on the left.  To upload your photos to the View Contributions Gallery for possible inclusion you must be a registered user of the site and logged in (see login/logoff under My Area on the left).  Click here or click the My Photo Uploads button under the My Area Menu on the left to access the Gallery's User Panel.
