I always felt that the "Black Mark" system was set up by Ned Scardino and Mr. Crampton as a special way to derail me and a few other dangerous sociopaths.
The system was easy. . . if you did something that had to be brought up in the weekly manager's meeting, you got a Black Mark that went on your Dad's record. Supposedly after three such marks in one school term, three months, you could be:
A. Sent off to school
B. Parents fined
C. Parents terminated and sent home.
Mr. Scardino maintained the chart and it was posted in his office in the administration building. During Lunch, daring commando raids were conducted by two or three young brash, extremely stupid kids who would sneak into the admin building and go to this office, up those side stairs, down the hall to THE door. Inside, as they never locked any thing, and some slight changes were made to the board. Usually upon the knowledge that the feared number three was coming.
For many years I thought Scardino a complete idiot, as he never figured out, that as many times as I had to report to him, he never was able to accumulate enough to actually get rid of me. Years later when I worked for Aramco Security, he told me that he knew all about our antics and it so tickled him, that he would add some just to panic us.
Ohhh, the whole program was a scare tactic, as someone's parents, perhaps Ronnie Nelson's threatened to sue Aramco over the harrassment of their son, although in my book it was well deserved, and the system was dropped. I never heard of anyone actually being expelled from the country except Chris Mohlman and there was a lot more to that story than I told about the boat. The real reason Chris got canned was that when he found out that he was going to be held accountable for the explosion and damage and costs, he went back out to reclamation and took a sledge hammer and bashed in over twenty Kenworth truck radiators and engines as a final F*&% Y^% to Aramco. Also had a little to do with an incident with a young lady in Dhahran and the combination of all of this got him canned.
So here's to Aramcoteers, one for all, all for one, and one gets all....
NOW.
. . how many of you geezers 63-69 remember the "T-maker Society".
Bill Cohea, you don't count as I know you know..
